My Life

Yesterday was the first day of Fall-like weather we've had.  I was so excited to wake up and see clouds... I immediately put on my favorite hoodie and cozy pants.  After a summer of temperatures over 110 F I couldn't be happier that Fall is finally coming.  Later in the morning after I dropped my daughter off at school and killed it at the gym (literally I really can't move much today), I came home, blogged for a while and them decided to use these sweet little apples from my Mom's tree to make an Apple Crisp.  It turned out so well... that's always nice when that happens.  Then it was time for more blogging, a little project I'm working on, and some tea and more apple crisp (good thing I went to the gym).

Does Fall make you feel like baking and sipping tea in your cozy clothes too?  If so, then you might like these little recipe cards I created for your enjoyment.  They are actually blank other than the design so you could easily use them as postcards or for little notes to mail to your friends.  There are also some little envelope seals included too in case you choose to use it for that purpose.  Just dab a little glue on the back and you're all set.  Two colors available:

So, what did your day look like today?  I'd love to know. xo Ez

Two for Tuesday

Here are some cute little mini notebooks that I created for your enjoyment.  I revived an old illustration I made a few years ago, and adapted it for one of the covers.  I think they are both adorable (if I do say so myself). Download Free Mini Notebooks

{TO USE}

  • Print the PDF at 100% onto heavy card stock paper (I recommend adjusting your printer setting to black and white for this project - not color).
  • Cut out along the outer lines
  • Fold cover along the center line
  • Cut scrap paper to fit inside (this is a perfect way to reuse paper)
  • Align paper inside cover and staple on the inside (with book opened completely)
  • Voilà... cute little books for all your note keeping needs!

If you'd like to share this printable on your blog (hurray), please be sure to link to this post directly and do not host the actual download on your site. Thanks so much!. For non-commercial use only.

D.I.Y. - Fabric Party Garland

Here's another gorgeous D.I.Y. tutorial from none other than the Purl Bee (I first spotted it on the wonderful ritzy bee blog).  The color palette chosen for this fabric party garland would work perfectly with my inspiration daily post from earlier today too!  The best part about about a project like this is how easily it can be adapted to suit your own tastes and decorating needs!  I'm thinking of putting one of these together for my holiday decor this year, and maybe another one to pull out for birthdays and impromptu tea parties!  Enjoy!

D.I.Y. - Embroidery Tutorial

Check out this gorgeous project and tutorial over on the Purl Bee blog.  I love the beautiful simplicity of the embroidery work... I think that even I could manage this project!  The instructions feature large color photographs that are easy to follow... and the finished look is so inspirational.  I love it!.

It's Freebie Time

Hello everyone!  I'm always trying to think of new and interesting things to share with you all.  Did you know that?  Actually I spend a huge amount of my daily existence thinking about you and musing upon how lucky I am to have each one of you as readers.  The support and inspiration you give me every day truly touches my heart... it really does!  So thank you.

Anyhowwwww... I thought it was about time for a new freebie, so I've created these fun printables for you all to enjoy.  I love vintage books, library cards, card catalog files (oh what I wouldn't give for one of those babies), so here you have:

  • Library Card Pocket Template
  • Printable Standard Library Cards
  • Printable Mini Note Cards (they fit inside the library card pockets) and are perfect for stashing in lunch boxes or using to top a gift)

I especially love the idea of using these as seating cards at a wedding or event.  Stamping each of the library card pockets with a number (or the guest's name) and then tucking a mini menu or program inside!  Perfect!

To read directions for use and to download...

{DIRECTIONS FOR USE} - Library Card Pocket

  1. Print template at 100% onto cardstock
  2. Cut out template along the outer lines
  3. Place template on top of a plain or patterned sheet of paper (heavyweight paper works best, but you can use other paper as well).  If your paper has a pattern be sure to place it pattern side down.
  4. Trace template onto your paper using faint lines with a pencil and cut out
  5. Fold paper where shown on the template (along the dotted lines) starting with number 1 and finishing with number 3.
  6. Glue the flaps (labeled on the template as number 3) using a glue stick.
  7. Taa-daa
