Buzz...

Inspiration really can come from anywhere... so hopefully you wont find it too odd that that this post was inspired by Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream - the previously discontinued and now newly-released *Vanilla Honey flavor to be exact!

There is a bit of a history to this all actually.  When I was a girl my sister and I were not allowed to eat sugar (this is probably why I have such a sweet-tooth now).  Fortunately for us the only exception my Mom made to this was a rare and savored trip to the Haagen-Dazs shop where we always delighted in a scoop of Vanilla Honey in a waffle cone.   What heaven!  My Mom, sister, and I have often mused wistfully after our beloved Honey Vanilla... so you can imagine our extreme delight yesterday when we found Haagen-Dazs carrying it again!  Of course we had to try it immediately... and I am happy to report that it is every bit as exceptional as I remember from over 20 years ago!  Thank you Haagen-Dazs!

*Haagen-Dazs has re-released this flavor for a limited time with proceeds going to fund research to protect disappearing honey bee populations.  You can see more about their mission here. There you have it! xox Ez

D.I.Y. Wedding Bouquet

Since I started the day off with a post about affordable weddings... I thought I'd continue on that theme and show you this very simple D.I.Y. bouquet I put together today.
All you need are flowers within your color palette, an elastic band,  a beautiful ribbon, and a glittery little bauble.
For a more expensive look try grouping several different flower varieties with a similar hue (look for an assortment of shapes and textures that will play nicely off one another)... or stick to one type grouped tightly together for a sweet and simply, chic look.

For this example I picked up two packs of beautiful daffodils from my local Trader Joe's (less then $4 for all of them).  I pulled the flowers apart and then reassembled them together to give the bouquet the shape I wanted.  Then I rubber-banded the stems in the center (under where the ribbon is), wrapped and tied a length of velvet ribbon around the band (only $1.75 from a local craft supply shop), and finished the whole thing off with a sweet little earring that I picked up at a thrift store (only $1.50 for the pair).  Tada!  Easy and pretty... don't you think?!

Daily Wear...

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you all had a fun and restful weekend!

So... this post is a realistic look at my personal day-to-day style.  I figured it was about time I set the record straight, since I've
received a lot of comments about my apparent "girliness."  And while
there is absolutely nothing wrong with being girly... people who know
me in my day-to-day life would never label me as such.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but I'm a pretty laid-back, no frills sort of girl.  Yes, I went to school for fashion design, but my daily look generally consists of a pair of jeans, a cotton tank or tee, a unique piece of jewelry (generally handmade or vintage - if I'm feeling spiffy), a cute but functional bag, and flats, flip-flops or similarly effortless footwear.  Are you all shocked?!  I mean realistically, there's not much reason to dress to the nines when you spend the majority of your day in front of a computer, right!

So... while we're airing the closet out... why don't you leave a comment below and tell me what you wear on a daily basis.  Do you have any fashion crutches?  Are you a girly-girl, laid back Boheme, sophisticated fashion maven, vintage loving fashionista, etc.?  I wanna know!
