Daily Wear...

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you all had a fun and restful weekend!

So... this post is a realistic look at my personal day-to-day style.  I figured it was about time I set the record straight, since I've
received a lot of comments about my apparent "girliness."  And while
there is absolutely nothing wrong with being girly... people who know
me in my day-to-day life would never label me as such.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but I'm a pretty laid-back, no frills sort of girl.  Yes, I went to school for fashion design, but my daily look generally consists of a pair of jeans, a cotton tank or tee, a unique piece of jewelry (generally handmade or vintage - if I'm feeling spiffy), a cute but functional bag, and flats, flip-flops or similarly effortless footwear.  Are you all shocked?!  I mean realistically, there's not much reason to dress to the nines when you spend the majority of your day in front of a computer, right!

So... while we're airing the closet out... why don't you leave a comment below and tell me what you wear on a daily basis.  Do you have any fashion crutches?  Are you a girly-girl, laid back Boheme, sophisticated fashion maven, vintage loving fashionista, etc.?  I wanna know!

-Crewneck Tissue Tee from J.Crew
-Anemone Necklace by Paper Flower Girl
-Mossimo Printed Tote Bag - Tan / Natural at Target
-Brooke Slingback Wedges from Delias... I love these shoes so much I just bought them yesterday!
-AE Straight Leg Jean from American Eagle

I'm of the laidback variety. Jeans, polo shirt, Stan Smiths or RM Williams is my regular attire. I'm one of those people who buys clothes in bulk. If I find something I like I get more of the same. I'm sure pople at work think I never change clothes but the reality is that I have enough black polos to last me all week. It is sort of a uniform I guess... I'm more into spending time and money on my home than on me...

I am very casual as well. But sometimes I feel scruffy at work because I work in fashion and the other girls look stylish. But it's usually jeans and a top for me. Sometimes heels but I like to be comfortable so that's not very often!

I am also of the laid back variety....I guess that is not a surprise as I am still running after a 2 year old most of the time! :) Jeans, a fun tee of Anthropologie ilk (on sale of course!), clogs in the colder months and sandals in the summer. Skirts instead of jeans in the summer! I tend to wear the same jewelry always but, admire funkier pieces from afar. I never take off my rings, bracelet or necklace. Whatever is super comfy, kind of stylish and a dash of funk/fun is good for me!I loooove the look above by the way and bet you look fabulous laid back or dressed up!xoMelissa

I just really like clothes so I generally don't look super laid back. T-shirts, cardigans and skinny jeans are what I tend to fall back on. I took some photos of my clothes I wear all the time on my flickr.http://www.flickr.com/photos/moorhousemoorhouse/2377292928/

I wish I was really high maitenance, always perfectly dressed, but the reality is that I'm really laideback most days ... Usually I'm in Hudson Jeans of some kind, a black (or dark purple or brown) V-neck (I think I have 50 that looks exactly the same...)depending if I have skinny jeans or not I'll either have lace up boots or a matching pair of Hogan sneakers and a vintage brooch somewhere to add at least some interest. Ofcourse if I'm in business meetings I'll dress accordingly to company standard; some kind of suit and a shirt. Usually light blue, white or blue and white stripes.

This is something I think about more than I should. I'm not happy with my current wardrobe and have been trying to get rid of the stuff that doesn't make me feel great and buy fewer but cooler things. In the meantime, I work in consulting but it's a fairly casual office. I wear pencil skirts and boots with cardigans or turtlenecks a lot in the winter, or dress pants with a button-down and a v-neck sweater. On Thursdays and Fridays I usually am more casual, in trouser jeans or nice fine-wale cords with a turtleneck or sweater again. Winter colors: Dark grey, light grey, black, some turquoise and some cream.

In the summer it's all skirts, with light cardigans over tank tops or t-shirts. Summer colors: Taupe, blue, cream, black.

It's funny because when people look at my blog and my polyvore sets, they get the idea that I'm truly a girly-girl who loves Japanese touches and other cutesy stuff but really, because of my work I'm most of the time casual and laid back-denim, light jacket, blouse, sandals or flats,etc....I'd love to dress up and be more like my polyvore sets(haha) but it's just hard to do that when being casual is so easy and takes so little of my time in the morning. ;)

Oh bless you! I pretty much dress the same as you, but do add a little girlie frill here and there. I try on my blog to give the real deal, and I am so glad that you have too!

oh if only I could wear jeans to work. I sport the same attire on the weekends though! I rarely dress up. but when I do, I love it!

Love this post! As for me, my style switches from day to day and all depends on how much I want to spend on my looks in the morning. Frequently I wear jeans, ballet shoes, ruffly vintage shirts or tees, and vintage blazers (or just a hoodie). If I'm willing to spend a little more time on myself, I put on very bright tights (my favorite ones are shocking pink and grassy green) and a vintage dress with big heeled mary janes or Betsey Johnson platforms. And I always have my hair in high and very messy pigtails.

I dress pretty much the same. I work at an office, but on the weekends it's a white tee, jeans (or shorts, I'm in Florida), Jack Rogers flats (or Reefs), cute necklace, cute bag. It's simple, but very pulled together and chic. If you accessorize properly, you can't go wrong! :)

Hi Ez!

I love, love, love YOUR style, I guess, because it's just like mine...Lucky jeans, Havianna flip-flops (have them in many colors, as long as you keep your toes painted, it looks like you tried to dress up), white v-neck boys tees (Target) and cute jewelry. Of course, I LOVE Anthropologie and J.Crew. Their images are ME, at least, the ME I dream to be ;), I save my special looks for date nights with my husband or outings with the kids. (Cute, inexpensive dresses from Forever 21). Not much to dress up for, because like you, I spend most of my day in front of the computer, drinking tea and absorbing all the beautiful things on line. I think if you look at enough cute things they eventually become you...don't you?

Come to think of it, I do have some admirers: three cats, an old black dog, a chihuahua, oh and let's not forget my friends at the post office.

Love your blog! Have a great day!

Oh, I'm so bad compared to all your lovely readers! What do I wear? You probably already know - sweats at home, jeans and a T-shirt while out! I only have one other pair of pants - black cords - that's it!! For Easter I was SO wishing for you - I had to shop for a dress (I didn't have even one!) and I ended up buying two, but the whole time, I was wishing I had you along. (With two dresses, I figure I'll at least have something to wear to the wedding!) Love you.

I have to jump in on this thread. Okay so I'm currently wearing low rise boot cut "diva" jeans and a white crochet tunic, both from old navy. On my feet, socks because I don't wear shoes in the house, and I have gold hoops and around my neck a gold necklace with a fabric covered locket in a red chinoserie print on it. I'm wearing my wedding band and engagement ring on one hand and a big lucite geometric ring on the other hand from a designer in NYC. If I leave the house, I'd throw on a pair of red flats and grab my red leather bag. And because it snowed today, my black wool pea coat. :(

I love getting to peek in other's closets! I wear scrubs to work, so your outfit is pretty cute to me! Statement jewelry is always the key.

Ez, I LOVE your girlie posts - LOVE them !! Don't stop them don't stop them!!

I shall email you as to what I'm wearing today as I don't think that I want the universe to know right now :-)
I love that you are posting about everyday wear! Some must-have everyday basics for me are cheapo ($2.50) gold flip flops from Old Navy; jeans--favorite pairs right now are my skinny jeans from Gap and my nearly worn out pair of boot cut Citizens of Humanity; classic white layering tank tops; black pumps--the higher the better; & my black coach satchel--classic bag that never goes out of style.
