Pinterest Picks: 02. 14. 11

Hello lovelies! I hope your weekend was wonderful and exactly what you were hoping for. Ours was sunny and warm...and after so much snow and cold over the past two weeks, that was precisely what my little iced-over heart was dreaming of.

Another thing brightening my world today are some of my recent favorites from Pinterest. I mean, isn't the color of this dress incredible! I just want to live in a bubble of that hue for the day, snack on these ridiculously delicious looking bars, kick my feet around in these hot haut heels (I wouldn't dare to try and walk in them), and whisper words of love (in French of course) to all the lovely bits of beauty I come across in my day. Le sigh!

DIY Personalized Flower Wrap

I first spotted this brilliant DIY Personalized Flower Wrap by Tokketok over on Pinterest and You Are My Fave blog last week, and I just can't stop going back to gaze at it. Such a simple and beautiful way to make a gift of flowers truly unique. Of course if kraft paper and white paint aren't your thing, your version of personalized wrap could be painted in bright colors on any kind or color of paper, embellished with glitter, written in pen, painted in block letters, etc. Go wild and have fun making the presentation a reflection of your adoration for the gift recipient. I'm sure they will love it (I know I would)! xo Ez

Do You Know How Lovely You Are

{Image by Parker Fitzgerald - see his amazing Polaroid quote series here}

Hello lovely friends. Today I wanted to take a moment to let you all know how very much each and every one you means to me. When I shared my personal story on Wednesday I really had no idea what to expect. The post had been tumbling around inside my head for ages, and I'm sure I went through every possible outcome at least a 100 times (especially the potentially bad ones). But even with all that, I never realized just how freeing and amazing it would be to finally share my story with you.

I know that this has so much to do with the incredibly generous and supportive people that you are. Your stories, comments, even poetry and artwork sent in response has changed my life for ever. Thank you for reflecting back what I was so hoping to see. Thank you for allowing me to unburden myself, and no longer feel the shame that I had been mostly unconsciously carrying with me for so long. Today I feel lighter than I have in years and I want you to know that you are a huge reason for this. I am eternally thankful for you...yes, YOU!

Have a wonderful weekend filled with joy and laughter my friends! With endless gratitude and love, Ez

DIY: I Love You Garland

Oh my goodness...this DIY I Love You Garland by Lovely Indeed (first spotted on Minted Condition) is just too fabulous to pass up on sharing before I step away from my blog for the weekend. Wouldn't you love to have one hanging in your home? And of course you don't need to have a "Valentine" to make one. Why not create one for yourself! I can think of a bazillion inspiring phrases that I'd love to use to make one (or more) for my studio. I'm also thinking of surprising my daughter with one that says "You Are Beautiful" or "You Are My Sunshine." You just can't really go wrong with glitter and positive affirmations!

Pop on over to Lovely Indeed for the full tutorial. If you don't have a printer (mine is broken at the moment) you could also purchase a stencil from an office supply or craft store and simply trace and cut out the letters you want (or even write them by hand if you have some sort of magic handwriting skills that you've been wanting to put to good use). Happy weekend everyone! xo Ez
