From Wares to Wear: Make this Photo into an Outfit

It's been over a month since my last Wares to Wear post, so today feels like a good time for a new one. I've been waiting to use this inspirational photograph by Alison Scarpulla in a post for what seems like ages now. I just love the tones and mood and really wanted to capture a similar essence in my wearable translation. Of course this was a lot easier in thought than in action, and it actually took me several attempts to get it looking right (read: days). In the end I'm really happy with how it turned out (especially the tiny little emerald green details throughout). What do you think? xo Ez

Today I Love: DIY Projects by Annaleena

I recently came across Annaleena's blog and found myself instantly transfixed by the beautiful home she has crafted for herself — filled with tiny little handmade details with loads of personality. In a hyphenated word: Mind-boggling! I then discovered that Annaleena also shares some pretty amazing DIY projects with her readers as well. So I thought I'd point you towards a few of my favorites today. If you want to see all of her amazing projects, be sure to visit her DIY section (believe me...you'll be glad you did).

DIY No.1: Feather Adorned Lampshade. I just love the dramatic pop of black that these feathers add to Annaleena's white home, don't you?! You could try something similar with found or purchased feathers, or try an animal-free version using the DIY Fabric Feathers that I created for 100 Layer Cake. Either way would look fantastic. Also, if you like this project you might enjoy this DIY Festive Lampshade Tree that I posted about last year. It takes a similar approach, but with a different effect.

DIY No. 2: Hanging Frames. A stunning statement in black, or uniquely you when you customize the frames with your favorite paint color. Perfect! You can find the full tutorial in English over on Emmas DesignBlogg.

DIY No. 3: Lace Covered Vase. Not only is this project as easy as they get, but when you're tired of it next season you can remove the lace and start with a clean slate again! Brilliant!

Gift Idea: Eva Juliet Art Prints

I blogged about some of Eva Juliet's wonderful art prints last year, but her newest pieces: Personalized Wedding Memory Tree and Personalized Family Tree, have inspired me to share her work with you again.

Eva is clearly a women who is just brimming with talent and creativity (amazing). Take a look at her portfolio for more lovely eye candy and then hop on over to her etsy shop to browse through all of her art prints (perfect for giving as gifts...or keeping for yourself).
