DIY Inspiration: Honey Jar Favors

Over the weekend I stumbled across a link to a post on i-DIY that I bookmarked ages ago, and just had to share. The favor packaging designed by the groom (Hans), is what really caught my eye. Designs were printed onto tan paper, hand-torn by the bride, and then attached to honey jars using jute twine. Such a wonderful way to add personality and charm to DIY favors! You could easily apply a similar concept to party favors for your next soiree, or wrap up jars of homemade jam for easy gift giving—you know...all the ones you're going to make over the Summer *wink*.

One of my favorite resources for vintage images is Clipart ETC (free for non-commercial use).

Etsy Finds & Faves

Happy Friday friends! This has been a great week! With your help in my shop fundraiser we were able to raise $770 for the Red Cross' relief efforts in Japan! Amazing! The money is currently being transferred from paypal to my regular bank account (the Red Cross doesn't take paypal payments apparently) and I will be sure to update you again once the final payment has been made (some time early next week I'm sure). Thank you again for your generosity and support! This wouldn't have been possible without you!

Now it's off for a somewhat Spring-like weekend of relaxation and maybe a bit of Spring cleaning too! I hope you enjoy your weekend (however you end up spending it). See you next week. xox Ez

Sponsor Spotlight: Ruby Lane

Hello bloggy friends! It's Friday and I'm back again to post in my new section here on Creature Comforts that spotlights my long-term blog sponsors (many of the ones who you see at the right). This blog would truly not be possible without their support, so this is my little way of saying thanks for making my dream of blogging an ongoing reality. They are awesome!

Today I am pleased to introduce you to Ruby Lane — a shopping marketplace for antiques, collectibles, and other hard-to-find vintage items. I'm always keeping my eye open for unique pieces for my home (my top searches are always for anything related to deer, owls, birds, postcards, and vintage books) and this site hosts all sorts of great finds. My picks above can be found here: Postcard, National Velvet Book, Globe. Pop on over to the Ruby Lane site and start exploring.

*Please note, that while ad placement (in the right-hand column) was purchased by my featured sponsors, the Sponsor Spotlight segment is not a paid portion.

Color-Blocked Belt Bracelet

I just discovered Of a Kind on Twitter yesterday and am hooked. Each week this creative business teams up with a new designer to introduce a limited edition piece (edition sizes range from 5-50 pieces), making it available for sale exclusively through their site. One such collaboration is this super amazing Color-Blocked Belt Bracelet designed by JF and Son. Yes...you can wear it as a belt OR bracelet! Perfect, right?! I just love the concept behind Of a Kind (you can read more about them here), and then pop on over to Of a Kind to see what editions and designers they are currently featuring. xo Ez
