In Good Company: Quill & Fox

I came across the Quill & Fox stationery line last week and was immediately smitten by their offerings. Now they've just introduced these fantastic Terrarium Postcards and I've had to revive myself with smelling salts all over again. Swoon!

Skip on over for a visit to their official site, take a peek at their blog, and then by all means plan a trip to their online shop. You should be able to fill your cart in no time flat. xo Ez

Peppermint Reindeer Patties with Free Printable Tags

Hi sweets! So I recently decided to revisit a favorite recipe from last year: Andes Mint Chocolate Cookies. This time around I adapted the recipe to make it gluten-free (I just used this gf flour in place of the regular flour and made sure my chocolate chips were gluten-free—Andes mints are gluten-free)...and honestly the results were just as delicious as I remember the standard recipe tasting. Whether you go for the traditional recipe or the adapted one...these minty treats will not disappoint.

And since they are so scrumptious (seriously...start rounding up your ingredients now) they make perfect gifts. (idea for holiday parties, teacher gifts, and more). Of course no gift is complete without its packaging so I had a little fun envisioning these minty morsels as Peppermint Reindeer Patties (ewww...yum) and created free printable tags to help make them even more gift-worthy!

There are three different tag designs on the printable sheet that you can use to make your packaging complete. If reindeer droppings are a little too silly for your giving purposes, you can use the more subtle Deer or Doily tags.

Print the file out onto heavy-weight card stock. Punch printed tags out with a 2" craft punch (scissors will work too). If you'd like you can also punch a small hole at the top of each tag and string it with a bit of twine, or leave tags unpunched (the way I did with mine).

To prepare your present: line the inside of a gift box with oil-resistant tissue paper or freezer paper. I used candy boxes found in the cake decorating isle at my local craft store and waxed tissue paper from the gift wrapping isle. Place your cooled cookies inside. If you'd like you can attach a pretty ribbon to keep your box closed (I secured my ribbon on the bottom with a couple pieces of double-sided tape). Attach a printed tag on top of a paper doily and adhere to gift with double-sided tape.

Give and make merry! xo Ez

Supplies used for this project:

  • Candy Boxes | craft stores
  • Waxed Tissue Paper | Michael's
  • Double-sided tape | Target, office supply stores, craft stores
  • 2" Craft punch | craft stores
  • Scissors | craft stores
  • Baker's Twine | We Sell Coffee
  • Doilies | craft stores

  • Andes Mint Cookie recipe - (be sure to make adjustments to the flour step if you need them to be gluten-free)

BTW...have you checked out my handy page of craft resources here on Creature Comforts. If not, you might like to take a peek (the link is found in the dropdown above, under Resources).
