High + Low: The Leopard Clutch

I've been trying to introduce a little more animal print into my wardrobe, but the idea of wearing a printed top or dress has me feeling skittish at times. It's a lot of (very bold) print! A thin leopard belt is pretty much my extent of walking on the wild side. Taking a look into accessories, I found a great compromise; the leopard print clutch. It can add so much to a simple outfit. So the search began for the perfect, affordable clutch. I love this Invitation Clutch from J.Crew, but at $448, it's far too expensive. The total of my five low finds is under $400, which sounds a lot better!

Invitation clutch in printed calf hair $448 - J.Crew | Large foldover leather clutch $75 - Etsy | Leopard calf hair clutch $89 - Etsy | Leopard flat clutch $165 - Clare Vivier

(Also, some cute and very inexpensive faux Etsy finds for $22 and $45.)

Remember, if there are any highs you'd like some alternative lows for, just leave a comment and it may be a future High + Low post!

Penelope's Cozy Travel-wear

Hi guys! Sorry for the late post today. I'm getting ready for a short trip that I'll be leaving for tomorrow, so I'm a little crazed with that, and a bit more side-tracked than I'd like to be.

Anyhow, since I have travel packing on the brain I thought it would be fun to create a little outfit post today showing my favorite sort of travel-wear (cozy and cute). This time we have Penelope the anteater showing off her wardrobe (last time it was Audrey the fox). She's a girl after my own heart, with sweet snacks and a great magazine in hand...although I just might have to pass on the choco-ants.

Also, before I dive back into packing I want to thank you all for your kind response to my illustrated post last week. Your sweet encouragement really means so much to me. So thank you! xo Ez

Outfit Inspiration: Audrey Enjoys Her Cup of Tea

Yesterday I decided that it would be fun to get some drawing practice in while pulling together a fashionable look post for today. A sweet little fox ended up emerging from my page with cozy mug of tea in hand, and I'm so glad she did. It seems that Audrey is rather fashion-forward for a fox, so I just might have to ask her back again to share more of her outfit inspirations with us. Perhaps some of her friends will join us too! What do you think?! xo Ez

Audrey wears: Gold Pom Pom Flower | Gold Flower Embellished Tee | Spare Stripe Mug | Pencil Skirl with Frill | Pointed Court Toe Shoes with Straps

P.S. Prints of Audrey Enjoys Her Cup of Tea are available in my shop! If you use the link here to buy any art prints of mine between now and October 14th you'll receive free shipping on your order! Offer excludes framed art prints and stretched canvases.

High + Low: The Ankle Bootie

This is the time of year when the great search for boots is in full force. To limit problems with fit, the ankie bootie is the answer I was searching for. Whether a pair of skinny cords or a shift dress, these could be your new best friend for fall. Of course, a gorgeous pair of Rachel Comey Mars Boots would be at the top of my wishlist, but the price tag easily scared me off. I don't object to paying for a good pair of shoes, but sometimes, saving a little cash doesn't hurt!

Rachel Comey Mars Boot $395 - Piperlime | Stacked Heel Booties $32.80 - Forever 21 | Rowe Back-zip Booties Regular $139, until Oct.11 $83.40 - Lands' End | The Zipcode Boot $208 - Madewell
