What to Wear: to Your Workplace Holiday Party

Thanks for all your wonderful feedback on the What to Wear series so far. I've been having so much fun creating these little characters to share with you and your kind comments have been just lovely! So thanks again!

Today we have Sofie the deer visiting with us. She has an office holiday party coming up and is hoping to finally catch the eye of a special buck at work who makes her feel like a deer in the headlights (in the best of ways). She'll be playing up her feminine charm with a look that is classic, chic, and practical (she can reuse each piece throughout the year to create new ensembles). Sounds like Sofie is one clever doe!

Sophie Wears:

  • Sofie adores her Fringed Lace Overlay Blouse but since it recently sold out, she recommends this beautiful Fringed Lace Layer Tee in its place.
  • She won't be able to help herself from feeling festive in a piece as pretty as this Tulle Party Skirt.
  • Opaque Tights...because Sofie wants to look pretty while keeping warm.
  • A pair of Sweetheart Vamp Pumps will add a touch of vintage chic to her look.
  • Metallic Leather iPhone Case, because she'll need to have her phone presentable and in hoof to instagram pics and text juicy details to her bestie during the party.

High + Low: The Gold Skirt

With the holiday season upon us, and gatherings at what seems to be every corner, I'm sure some of you are on the search for the perfect festive threads. Adding a little sparkle is fitting for this time of year, but I'm not as glitzy as some of the lovely sequin offerings I see in stores. A good alternative? Metallics. They're just enough shimmer and less of a hassle. I love this golden Diane von Furstenberg skirt, but the price (and the length at only 14") certainly gave me pause. Good thing it only needed to serve as inspiration for my low finds!

Diane von Furstenberg Addie Jacquard Skirt $285 - Bloomingdale's | Wild Sparkle A-Line Skirt $38 - Francesca's | Gold Jacquard Full Skirt $72 - Topshop + Nordstrom | Monique Skirt $148 - Walter Baker

What to Wear: to Meet the Parents

Hi friends! Did you have a great weekend and a festive Thanksgiving holiday (for those of you celebrating)? I hope so! I just returned from a too-short trip to visit with family on the West Coast and now as soon as I get unpacked I'll be ready to dive into the holidays with open arms! Bring on the sparkles and cheer!

Thankfully while I'm getting situated today Audrey's dear friend Grace offered to pop by and share her savvy fashion advice with us all. She'll soon be meeting her honeybear's parents for the first time, and while still a little nervous, she has managed to deftly put together an outfit that has her feeling both comfortably confident and presentable. And of course being the clever bear that Grace is, she also thought to bring along a festive hostess gift (bonus points for Miss Grace). I think she hit the nail on the head...don't you?!

High + Low: The Wool & Leather Coat

I live in a city where it's almost guaranteed that the cold weather will be sticking around for a good 5 months. Your coat becomes a uniform, since it's all anyone ever sees. As with anything else, it's nice to have a few options when it comes to outerwear. But it isn't easy when you fall in love with pieces like this $529 Taylor Coat from Club Monaco. The biker style differs from your usual classic, feminine, or puffer jackets that are out there, and the added leather accents are right on trend this season. It's polished yet slightly rebellious. (Like most of us. Am I right?) Luckily, I was able to gather a few great alternatives!

Taylor Coat $529 - Club Monaco | Norra Jacket $98 - Need Supply | ASOS Biker Coat $170 - ASOS | Coat with Quilted Leather Sleeves $229 - Zara

I also love this similar style coat from Zara availble in a rich maroon. It's great way to incorporate those deep red hues of this season into your wardrobe.

What to Wear: Thanksgiving Dinner

Hi lovelies! Are you feeling ready for the Holidays yet? No?...that's okay, I'm not really either. That's why today I'm super excited to be teaming up with Anthropologie and the always fashionable Audrey the fox to bring you a series that aims to help take some of the stress out of the Seasons most common what-to-wear dilemmas.

Over the next few weeks Audrey's friends will be stopping by to share their outfit solutions for everything from what to wear when Meeting the Parents (eep) to dressing up for a fabulous New Year's Eve Party (hooray). But first up today we have Audrey feeling cool as a cucumber in her oh-so comfortable yet super fashionable outfit she's picked out to wear for the Thanksgiving Dinner she'll be hosting for her family and friends this Thursday. I'll tell you what, Miss Audrey is one chic fox! Taking fashion advice from an animal has never seemed so well-advised!

Audrey Wears:

  • This Glinted Peasant Blouse looks effortlessly chic and leaves lots of flattering room around the midsection so Audrey can look forward to having as many helpings as her little foxy heart desires!
  • For dessert, Audrey will be presenting her famous triple-layer toasted acorn pavlova on this unique Peony Portrait Domed Cake Stand...festive and beautiful year-round.
  • Pants that add a pop of color are always a good thing, especially when they are AG Stevie Cords in Audrey's favorite hue.
  • A hostess never sits for long, so Audrey will be keeping her feet cozy in a pair of stylish Rani Flats.

Thanks for sharing your fashion ideas with us Audrey! Check back next week for a chic look from one of Audrey's unBEARably sweet friends. xo Ez
