Etsy Finds & Faves: Blush

Hello lovelies and happy Friday to you all!  Today's collection of etsy finds and faves was loosely inspired by a very embarrassing moment I had just the other day.  Here's what happened:

Our dog Orey was having an issue with his eye (poor little thing) so we took him into the vet for a checkup.  After waiting in the room for a bit the doctor came in.  Sweet little Orey is a nervous fellow, so in an attempt to sooth his nerves I leaned forward to plant a smooch right on the top of his head.  Unbeknownst to me, at that precise moment the vet was also reaching for his head, and instead of kissing fur...I kissed her hand!  Instantly all the blood rushed to my face (I was probably as pink as a salmon) and we both looked at each other in an awkward frozen moment that seemed to last for-e-ver.  Finally I managed to blurt out some pseudo-witty comment and we both laughed it off, but just thinking of it now is bringing the blush back to my face!  So, so embarassing!  Eep!

Do you have any embarrassing moments that you are brave enough to share?  You'll make me feel a whole lot better if you do!  Have a fabulous weekend everyone!  xo Ez

I have a embarassing, funny story!

Once I was in the University, dashing to my Microeconomics class in my beautiful high heels shoes. Suddenly, the heels got stuck in some hole on the ground and it stood there!!! A gorgeous guy was behind me and more than fast he took my shoe and said "let me put this cristal shoe in my Cinderella!"
I obviously blushed!!! And was so embarassed that I could not even look him! Hahahahahaha! All I could do was laugh! And we laugh so much that I even forgot I was late to class!

My sophomore year of college, we had a dance that was held on a boat. It was shortly after September 11th and we were in DC, so security was extra tight. I was in a super-happy mood and while walking up to the ship with my friends, the security guard we were approaching held out her arms, and for some reason, I thought she wanted to hug me, so I reached out and gave her a bit of a hug. Turns out, she needed to pat down all the ladies, boy was I embarrassed!

oh no! i'm sorry but i have to admit it's so funny! at least it wasn't a guy though, right? that would've been worse i think!

so here's (one) embarrassing moment of mine:

last summer i spent a week at the outer banks with my boyfriend's entire family. his oldest brother and wife were joking about how they'd been married way too long and i asked how old they were when they got married and they said 21 and so, in my head, i calculated how old they were now minus how old they were when they got married and somehow came up with some big number, so i said "wow, i wasn't even born yet!" and i think a few people chuckled and then i guess we all figured it out at the same time cuz we just gave each other these weird looks and they started chuckling, and i was like, "wait, you were married 15 years ago..." and i was definitely older than 15, i was 22 last summer. i felt like such a complete idiot and i still cringe whenever i think about it... just awful :/

there was another stupid/embarrassing thing i said that week that made me cringe but fortunately i can't remember it!

oh, and since this is related! i wasn't there when it happened but my boyfriend was talking to his mom and grandma and he meant to say "organism" but instead said "orgasm." i laughed so hard when he told me that! how embarrassing to say in front of your mother let alone your grandmother too! :P

Mine is similar to yours, but it's about my husband. Once when we were dating we were holding hands and he went to kiss my hand but he kissed his own hand instead. It was so funny!!! I couldn't stop laughing, and of course he was a little embarrassed. But here we are, eight years later... and I still laugh when ever I think of that moment. I have it tucked away in my head... a memory I can pull out when I need an instant laugh. Works every time.

The local grocery store seems to be the hub of all embarrassing moments for me lately. A few recent examples involve having a conversation with someone that knew me, but I didn't know; a perfect stranger un-tucking his shirt and pulling it up to show me his back tattoo; and the guy at the deli counter not at all getting my sarcastic sense of humor and instead staring at me like I was a lunatic. We all have those moments.

Back in college, I was walking down a hallway with a friend, and we were waxing rhapsodic about the various guys in our class that we thought were cute. I was being particularly silly + dramatic, and at one point stopped, threw my hands up in the air and said (loudly), "Yeah, well, Randy is okay but I just can't get the vision of Joshua out of my head!" At that VERY MOMENT, who should walk out of the door to my immediate left? Yup. Joshua.

Cue red face and nervous laugh. I was pretty mortified. I'm 99.9% sure he heard me. To this day, I cling to that .1% that says he might not have. :D

(Also want to say - I'm fairly new to your blog + decided to pop out of Google Reader today and tell you that it is fabulous! You have a wonderful aesthetic and it is evident that you put a lot of time and effort into it. thanks for all the inspiring and lovely posts.)

hahhahahahhh! amazing story :)
When i was younger, I was on a first date with a first real potential boyfriend and I missed his mouth, entirely, when going in for the kiss. worst part: i was already in high school.
I was so embarrassed about the awkwardness, that I broke up with him the next day.
still laughing about your story...

Okay...first of all...that story is priceless. I love it! So sorry it embarrassed you hun but, it will be fun to tell and retell for the future, no? Oh..no. God, I feel like stories like that happen to me all the time but, the one that stands out right now is calling someone the wrong name for a full year until they finally told me the right name. I was so embarrassed. I have so many, it is hard to choose! Don't feel badly & I hope Orey's eye is okay. LOVE that little pig, above and ....well, all of it! Beautiful & so sweet.

Gah! That pig is so cute.

Great story!

My suitemate in college had the best story. She was in the library with listening to music with her headphones. She had to pass gas so she did. She just barely could hear it above the music and assumed no one else did. But then she realized everyone was looking at her and she was wearing headphones.

Your story is so cute! Most of mine involve me saying something stupid. For example: Years ago I worked in an office and there was one guy I just couldn't seem to connect with. Small talk was beyond painful between us. And to my horror, I got assigned to a project with just him. The two of us would now be spending hours alone. I tried so hard to make it work. One afternoon (luckily, near the end of the project) we were actually starting to make decent small talk. He said something about his child. (I didn't even know he had a child.) I don't know why, but before I knew it, I blurted out, "I didn't realize you'd been married." He glared down at me and said he'd never been married. I think my response was, "oh." We never attempted small talk again.
