Santa's Cookies Wreath

Hi bloggy friends. A few weeks ago the folks at Green Valley Christmas Trees got in touch with me with a fun challenge - they wanted to see what I could create with one of their wreaths and a few hours of craftiness. I'd never made a "traditional" wreath using pine branches before so I was excited to accept.

Once my wreath arrived (how exciting to just have a perfect wreath delivered right to my door) I started brainstorming up a concept, and decided on a "Santa's Cookies" theme. I made the "cookies" from polymer clay and used odds and ends from around my home for the rest (such as half of a striped paper straw, a small paper cup from an old Martha Stewart party kit, a paper doily for the "plate," and French dragees and pieces from an old beaded garland to add a bit of shine to the pine sprigs).

What do you think? If you'd like to try your hand at a wreath like this, I will be sharing a tutorial for my faux "sugar cookies" a little bit later today (I'm in the midst of putting the tutorial together as we speak). Green Valley Christmas Trees would also like to offer Creature Comforts' readers a special 10% discount on all items. Use promo code “COMFORT” - valid through tomorrow. xo Ez
