Chic for Cheap: Shopping the Sales

With Fall on its way it is the perfect time to hit the stores for some great end-of-the-season sales and bargains (the same can be said for those of you getting ready for Spring's arrival).  For today's Chic for Cheap challenge I wanted to show how you can potentially take one great piece — like this beautiful reduced-price dress from J.Crew and accessorize it to fit not only this season but the next one as well (you'd also end up with a killer little black dress too)!  xo Ez

Today I Love: Autumnal Dreaming

Hello lovelies!  Did you have a nice weekend?  It's been so hot here for so long that I think I'm starting to get a little bit loopy.  My only refuge from the heat is to imagine that crisp Fall weather is just around the corner.  Won't you imagine right along with me?  xo Ez

Fashion Fetish: Swoon-Worthy Shoes

I have a serious obsession with shoes.  I am constantly adding pretty pairs to my wishlist to swoon over.  The funny part is that my actual wardrobe consists of no more than 8 pairs (from Converse and flip-flops to black Mary Janes).  I guess the reality is that sometimes just dreaming of the places you'd go and the outfits you'd wear with each pair can be almost as good as the real thing.

The pairs here have been making my heart go pitter-pat every time I gaze at them in my wishlist.  I'm thinking pick No.5 in particular just might need to come home with me.  xo Ez

When I spotted this gorgeous Plumo dress over on Mosey blog the other day I was immediately inspired to create a post around it.  Finding the right things to go with it took me a while, but now I'm finally happy with the resulting mood board.  If nothing else, be sure to check out more of the gorgeous treasures from Plumo.  There is so much inspiration to be had.  xo Ez

Artfully Photographed Collections + An Organization Idea

I came across the elias & grace website a few weeks ago and was immediately captivated by the artful way in which they have created little "outfits" with their products (meant to inspire their visitors - and inspire they do).

Their arrangements brought to mind the lovely first year book project that Lisa Rupp put together for her daughter.  So I popped over to her blog archive to check it out once again, and there discovered yet another wonderful company featuring beautifully arranged clothing vignettes: Flora and Henri.

After soaking in all this lovely eye candy I was struck with an idea...what if I use this same photographic technique to capture snapshots of the pretty objects in my home?!  You see, I have a really hard time getting rid of things (especially pretty things).  This wouldn't be such a problem if I lived in a massive estate for instance, or rented a storage unit...but I don't have either of those two enablers so I've come to the conclusion that I truly have to let some of my stuff. go  What better way to say a fond farewell then to capture them in a pretty way and keep (instead of a house full of pretty things) an album full of pretties that I can enjoy forever - and that will take up a lot less space.  What do you think?  I can't wait to get started!  xo Ez
