Chic for Cheap: Natural History Photo Presentation
Hello and happy Tuesday lovelies! A sweet CC reader and photographer Diana Brennan recently wrote in with a request for a Chic for Cheap look for an upcoming presentation of her photographic work. Here is the challenge in her own words:
"I have a meeting with a potential client, and I want to look professional but also artsy. I'm pitching my natural history series of photographs, so tying into that aesthetic would be appropriate. I have this dress from Old Navy in navy blue, and I'm wondering if I could incorporate it into an autumn outfit."
Since I'm assuming the weather is a bit more Autumnal in Rhode Island where Diana lives than here, I wanted to incorporate some cozy Fall pieces that still give her room to move around in. I included both jewelry and a scarf so there is an option between the two. I'd probably wear just the scarf and earrings (leaving off the necklace) or the necklace (and maybe earrings together) as the two accessory look options. Of course she'll need a bag to hold her portfolio in and this affordable canvas bag seems to fit the bill nicely (it also comes in brown). If the weather is really crisp, a pair of tights would be cute and if the meeting calls for a higher level of formality then I'd recommend switching out the comfy flats for a pair of Mary Jane's such as these ($26.99).
I hope your presentation goes really well Diana! xo Ez

One Good Thing: Blik Rose Wall Decal
Today I'm loving Blik's new Rose Wall Decal (spotted via Rebecca on Pinterest). It would look great on anything from a plain white surface to a brightly painted wall (wouldn't it be cute inside a walk-in closet or some other equally unexpected place). The decal was designed for Blik by Ilan Dei.
