In Good Company: Museum of Useful Things

If you're a fan of industrial design like I am (or if you just like well designed products that actually function as they are supposed to) then you've got to pay a visit to the shop: Museum of Useful Things. This is one of my favorite photos from last year. I can still remember the crispness of the late Winter air as I knelt down on the half-frozen ground at the park to get close enough to capture this whithered bloom. My daughter was a bit embarased to see me sprawled out where others might have noticed (by now she's used to it) but quickly forgot all that once we moved on to the duck pond and a lovely but brisk afternoon at the park. I love that photos can hold such vivid memories in them. Don't you?

Mini Color Crush: Mushroom + Radish

Hello lovelies! I'm hurry-scurrying to try to have Gifted Magazine all together in one cohesive issue by the official launch next week. Of course I'm doing my best to keep on top of things here on Creature Comforts too. Phew...it's a lot for little ol' me to do! In any case I hope I'll have another post for you later today, in the meantime I've put together a little color crush palette that I'm currently loving. Mushroom browns are brought to life with pops of radish red and sage-toned greens. Pretty!

• Gorgeous boots - I love the black version of these babies too.
• A luscious handmade scarf that looks good and does good (the company was founded to give jobs back to artisans in Ethiopia who are in need of work).
• A perfect bag for Autumnal walks (just think how many Fall leaves, pinecones and feathers you could collect in there).
• Charming wooden toys (yes for babies) that I totally wouldn't mind having on my desk.
• No need to neglect your little piggies just because the weather has cooled down - dress them up in Fall-worthy colors with Zoya polish.
• A great looking belt with an equally attractive price. Love it!

I snapped this image a couple Falls ago while sitting in my car outside my parent's old home in California. They (and we) have since moved, but memories of picking persimmons with my daughter and sisters will always be something that I treasure from our time in that beautiful part of the world.
