Inspiration Daily: 10. 27. 10

This is one of my favorite photos from last year. I can still remember the crispness of the late Winter air as I knelt down on the half-frozen ground at the park to get close enough to capture this whithered bloom. My daughter was a bit embarased to see me sprawled out where others might have noticed (by now she's used to it) but quickly forgot all that once we moved on to the duck pond and a lovely but brisk afternoon at the park. I love that photos can hold such vivid memories in them. Don't you?

Most of my photos I can remember where I was and how I was feeling when I took the photos - I really love this "extra" quality about photography. Sometimes I can even remember the smells, or what I was thinking at the time. This is a really love and peaceful shot.

This is just gorgeous! So simple but I love it. And yes, I know exactly what you mean about how a photograph instantly takes you right back to that very moment.

Can you please please share the make and model of the camera you use? I would love to be able to photograph even the tiniest bit like this.

Hi Callmesusana - the camera I use is a Nikon D300 with Photoshop for post-processing. I'm most certain that you can do anything you put your mind to. I am still learning so much about my camera (I haven't even gotten all the way through the manual yet), and it's fun to see what is possible. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, creativity, and encouragement. Every time I visit here, I want to (and do) jump up and gather paint, my sewing machine, paper, fabric, etc. and feel enlivened with ideas :) :)
