Pinterest Picks: A Seasonal Feeling

I know it's only been November for a week, but I've been hard at work on this year's holiday gift guide (launching later this week) for well over a month, so the Christmas spirit has come to my house a bit early.

Are you getting excited for the holidays yet? Do you have any holiday crafting plans underway? As soon as the gift guide is up I'm going to dive into a bunch of holiday projects (most of which I hope to share with you guys right here on Creature Comforts). But for now I'm off to keep working on the last details for Gifted Magazine. Enjoy your day. xo Ez

The Little Things

Sometime you just need those little things in your day that make you stop for a second and smile. This video created by Erin Jang for Martha Stewart Living has done exactly that for me. I hope it will put a smile on your face too. P.S. I think it's just as enjoyable without the sound, so feel free to turn it off if you need or want to). Enjoy! xo Ez

DIY Leather Pinecone

My lovely friend Susan from Freshly Picked, recently shared a tutorial for a charming seasonally-inspired Leather Pinecone. Yes, you read that correctly - LEATHER pinecone! Awesome, right?!

Since Susan works with leather for her Freshly Picked line of moccasins and accessories, she has a lot of scrap leather left over. I really admire her ability to make something wonderful out of pieces that might have otherwise been thrown out. I haven't given it a try yet, but it seems like if you don't have access to leather you might be able to adapt the tutorial and make your pinecone with stiffened fabric or wool felt. As soon as I have a second of free time I hope to make my own little collection of these cuties. Can't wait! I'm already imagining them hanging on my Christmas tree and topping gifts!

Have a fabulous and inspiring weekend everyone! See you next week! xo Ez

Inspired Artist: Anna Hurley

I spotted this charming Wee Illustration Series by Anna Hurley over on DesignWorkLife the other day and I haven't been able to get her tiny images out of my head (not that I want to). I just love the way Anna has chosen one color palette and applied it to each piece. The effect really allows the simple charm and beauty of the objects she's rendered to shine. See all of the illustrations from this series right here, and the rest of Anna Hurley's work here. Anna Hurley is also currently designing for Hello Lucky!...explore their wonderful paper goods site right here.
