Elsa Mora's Blossom Buddies

Elsa Mora is another wonder who's work and creativity astound me on a constant basis.  Her flickr album abounds with examples of her incredible talent.  Her blog is filled with beautiful personal posts about her creative process and more.  Check out her shop and you'll be even further smitten.

Now Elsa has just introduced her first book titled, Blossom Buddies (releasing April 15, 2009 - and available for pre-order right here).  In this post Elsa shares her inspiration for her wonderful flower creations, and you can read more about the book itself and get some sneek peeks inside, right here.

Today I Love: Naturally Dyed Eggs by Stephanie Barnes

Some people just seem to ooze talent and creativity from their pores.  I know that sounds kind of gross, but I really can't think of a better way to describe it.  Stephanie Barnes is one such person who's talent I'm just completely in awe of.  A quick browse through her flickr stream and you'll soon find yourself wiping drool off your keyboard.  (I know I'm full of unsavory metaphors today... somebody help me out).  Seriously.  ; )

In any case, when these gorgeous naturally dyed eggs popped up in Stephanie's album the other day I nearly swooned.  The richness of colors is simply wonderful.  What makes the project even more appealing to me is the thought of experimenting with my own fruit/veggie/spice varieties.  You can read all about her process on her blog right here.  I can't wait to see how mine will turn out! xox Ez

Weekend Link Love: 03. 27. 09

{photo by me}

The weekend is here at last!  Hurray!  Do you have anything fun or eventful  planned?  I'm planning to spend the next two days doing a little Spring cleaning around my home and in my workspace (it's a disaster currently), working on some new PDFs and prints for my shop, soaking in the glorious sun (with sunblock on of course), and I'm thinking some fresh berry smoothies might also be in order.  Yum! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!  xox Ez

And now for your weekend link love:

Amy Ruppel State Bird Print Series

Any Amy Ruppel fan knows that her original pieces fly out the door like hotcakes, and it's nearly impossible to snag one unless extreme measures of dedication are employed.  Now fans new and old can shop with a measure of ease from her brand new State Bird Print Series.  Each print is available in two different sizes and is signed by Amy.

If only I had the funds to purchase all 50!  Which ones are your favorites?  Would those of you here in the US be inclined to buy the bird that represents your state?  Or are there no territorial boundaries when it comes to artwork as sweet as this?

I love them all, but if I had to pick my top three they would be: Washington, Wisconsin, Hawaii (and because choosing only three is virtually impossible... my fourth favorite is New York). xox  Ez
