Project Runway, HP + Me!

Season 9 cast image from Lifetime.

Okay guys...did you catch the season premier of Project Runway last Thursday (if not you can watch the full episode online right here)? I hope so, because it was great...and also because today I am super excited to finally be able to share some fun news with you all.

A little bit ago HP invited me to team up with them for season 9 of Project Runway and use their new TouchSmart 610 computer all season long to follow along with each weekly designer challenge and then create a post inspired by it. So here you have my very first one!

I literally just started using the TouchSmart at the end of last week (right before the show premiered actually) and I have to say that it was so much fun to create with (my daughter has been having a blast too...and the sound system on it is ridiculously awesome - it's been a party up in here since it arrived). Anyhow my results are a bit rough this first time around, so I can't wait to see how I improve with a little practice over the next few weeks.

Anyhow, each week my post will be something new and different since I will be gaining inspiration from whatever harebrained challenge the Project Runway designers face each Thursday. If you tuned in last week then you know the first challenge was to design a garment using only the clothing each designer had slept in (they were awoken early and given the surprise challenge) plus one white sheet. Eep! What a great way to see the level of talent and imagination that this season's cast members have!

So, for my challenge I decided to hypothetically take what I was wearing while watching the show (just a plain white t-shirt and black pants) and work them into two new virtual outfits. I then doodled up a little sketch using the HP TouchSmart to finish my challenge off. Here's what I came up with:

Look No.1: Perfect V-Neck Tee Shirt - Old Navy | Million Pleats Midi Skirt and Niina Mary-Janes - both from Anthropologie | Leather Wrap Round Tassel Clutch - Asos

Look No.2: Ikat Cinched Tunic Top - Piperlime | Caravan Pant (not available in black) - J.Crew (the exact ones I was wearing are no longer available, so this is a substitute) | Idema Sandals - Aldo | The Croc Telegram Clutch - Madewell

So...what do you think? How would you fare if you were challenged to redesign an entirely new outfit using exactly what you are wearing right now? If sewing was involved I'd definitely be the first one out! Auf Wiedersehen!

Stop by next week when I'll be translating this Thursday's challenge with the HP TouchSmart again (and don't forget to watch Project Runway too). Woohoo! xo Ez

Full disclosure...because that's just how I roll. HP provided me with a TouchSmart 610 computer for use with these weekly challenges. All content was left solely up to me. I have not been financially compensated for my opinions of this product or the Project Runway show.
