DIY Repurpose Books into Picture Frames

This clever project created by Lauren Elise for Papernstitch shows us how to repurpose books into creative picture frames. To many it might seem a little "out there" to cut into a book in this way, but old bookstores and libraries are regularly disposing of unused/unwanted tomes...and it seems that this is one way to breath new life into something otherwise destined for the rubbish bin. I think this idea would look especially lovely used as decor for a wedding reception...maybe filling the frames with images of the bride and groom, with meaningful trinkets, or even numbers for each table! What do you think? Have you ever repurposed a book in a creative project...or does the idea of pulling one apart make you cringe? xo Ez

Etsy Finds + Faves: Pink, Pale, or Grey

Another weekend is upon us (woot woot) and I hope you have two fun-filled days stretching out if front of you. My daughter and I have plans to start our veggie garden (crossing my fingers, because so far I have never managed to find my green thumb), watch a film (we can't decide between HOP or Rio - any thoughts?), and otherwise be lazy and enjoy the cool-ish weather before it makes us senseless with its soon-to-be unrelenting heat. I hope I"ll be seeing you all again next week. xox Ez

And now I leave you with a little etsy love:

DIY Inspiration: Honey Jar Favors

Over the weekend I stumbled across a link to a post on i-DIY that I bookmarked ages ago, and just had to share. The favor packaging designed by the groom (Hans), is what really caught my eye. Designs were printed onto tan paper, hand-torn by the bride, and then attached to honey jars using jute twine. Such a wonderful way to add personality and charm to DIY favors! You could easily apply a similar concept to party favors for your next soiree, or wrap up jars of homemade jam for easy gift giving—you know...all the ones you're going to make over the Summer *wink*.

One of my favorite resources for vintage images is Clipart ETC (free for non-commercial use).

Pinterest Picks: 03. 21. 11

Hello friends! Did you all have a wonderful weekend? Spring made a truly spectacular arrival here yesterday with glorious breezy weather in the 80's, which we of course took full advantage of at our local park. It couldn't have been more perfect! Happy sigh.

Anyhow, each week as I am looking through my favorites over on Pinterest I almost always find myself drawn to a specific color palette...and that palette (I've discovered) more often than not seems to involve pink. I'm not sure why...I don't think of myself as a huge pink fanatic, but then a new Monday rolls around again, and that's what I find myself collecting to share with you all. Whether you love the hue or loath it, hop over to Pinterest to get an eyeful of inspiration (in every color). You can find more of my pins here and previous weekly Pinterest Picks right here. Have a gorgeous Monday! xo Ez

Confetti Boutonniere

It's not often that I post actual product photos as my Inspiration Daily, but the crew over at Pomp & Plumage are doing wonderful things (and using gorgeous color palettes) for their line of handmade boutonnieres and wedding accessories. Simply stunning.
