Souvenir Foto School: Day 17 - E for Eleven Clips
Just popping in to share my completed Souvenir Foto School assignment for the day. The grey weather here has been almost relentless (we did have one pocket of sunlight yesterday) and I think it's effecting more than just my photos. Does long-term gloomy weather do that to you too?
Anyhow, my goal with these shots was to try to make something mundane into something interesting. I'm not sure that I succeeded, but that's what the intention was anyway. Crossing my fingers for sun tomorrow...though I think they've forecasted rain. The one consolation I have, is that rain = Springtime flowers, so that will make it worth it. xo Ez
If you'd like you can also find all my images in individual and diptych form for this month-long class challenge over in my flickr album. | Souvenir Foto School is offered by Besotted Brand.

I think you succeeded. I'm really enjoying your photography series, it's teaching me a lot about photography.
I feel the same way about gloomy weather. It makes me seriously down sometimes. I'm from Alabama so our weather is so crazy. Last week it was sleeting and so cold, and today it is sunny and 68. Hoping the sun and warmer weather come your way soon!

The gray weather does that to me too and it's been relatively mild this year in Seattle. Spring can't come fast enough. Who is the designer of the bowl? It's just beautiful.
we've been lucky here with sun in Chicago the past two days, which is unheard of in the middle of Feb! I think you definitely made these clips interesting. Beautiful photos - as always!
So nice to know that I'm not alone. Thank you ladies!
And Maggie - I actually "made" the bowl myself by painting a store-bought dish with ceramic paint from the craft store. Easy and a pretty pop of color for my desk. Maybe a 5 minute DIY is in order?! xo Ez
love these shots, i think you worked wonders. and i've been meaning to tell you how much i've enjoyed following along on these foto school posts.
dreary weather is no fun, i'm with you. hope you have some bright and cheery moments over the weekend.
I love your pictures, they are gorgeous! And you do such a great job creating light that I would never know the light was bad if you didn't say so. Gloomy weather affects me like crazy! I basically wear pjs and watch movies whenever it's rainy because I'm too gloomy to do anything else. Thank goodness I don't live in Washington!
I absolutely LOVE that bowl! Do you mind me asking where it's from?
Yes, gloomy weather totally does that to me as well. I love photographs of mundane things, sometimes I feel like there's so much more to it!
you def created something interesting. I love this series!!
have a great weekend xx
il tuo blog è meraviglioso! complimenti, ti seguirò :)
Your pretty blog makes me happy every day! Thank you for the lovely inspiration!
That bowl is really beautiful- where is it from?
I agree with your feelings on grey weather- it makes me feel a bit gloomy.
Thank you all so much for your lovely comments! I made the bowl using a small sauce dish from Target and special Ceramic paint. If you're interested I could put together a simple DIY for you all soon. Just let me know. xo Ez
Gloomy weather makes you feel gloomy, it's so true. Short days, grey skies, not good for the soul. Roll on the springtime flowers! On mundane things, I think they make the best subjects sometimes - I think you've done a wonderful effort at making something fascinating out of a few pegs...
i love that number 11 featured in one of your foto school assignments! all of your photos have been so good, it makes me want to try harder. thanks for sharing them with us and for your little tips on taking better photos, really helpful. you always manage to bring the light, even on the gloomiest of days p.s. we have had relentless rain here in sydney too... and it's supposed to be summer!
Yes! A diy post on the bowl would be awesome! :) It's beautiful! I really like photos of everyday things, especially office supplies--I think you succeeded in making it interesting. The two photos together make a great diptych (which was a really neat idea to do the series this way, btw).
