Sponsor Spotlight: Royal Design Studio
Hello everyone! Today I am starting a new section here on Creature Comforts that will spotlight my amazing long-term sponsors (many of the ones who you see at the right). This blog would truly not be possible without their support, so this is my little way of saying thanks for making my dream of blogging an ongoing reality. They are awesome!
For my first post in this series I would like to give a shout-out to Royal Design Studio. I first became aware of this lovely stencil company when I spotted their fabulous Skylar's Lace stencil (the photo of the beautiful floor above) featured on another blog a couple years ago. I guess I had never really thought of the wide array of creative projects possible with stencils until then, and a look around their site opened my eyes even further.
I asked Royal Design Studio to share a bit more about their stencils with us today, and here's what they had to say:
"All of our stencils are cut from a thick, durable mylar material that can be used over and over. Stenciling allows you to easily match your paint colors to your existing decor, creating a personal, custom, economical touch that simply isn't possible with wallpaper or vinyl decals. They allow you to creatively customize your space with color, patterns and painting techniques, in a way that is personally rewarding, satisfying AND inexpensive. Stenciled decor isn't limited to wall, though! Pretty much any surface is fair game, including floors, ceilings, furniture, fabric, and accessories."
Isn't your mind just bubbling with ideas on how to use these amazing stencils now?! I know mine is! Hop on over to Royal Design Studio for even more inspiration, and of course the actual stencils. Also keep a lookout for a free downloadable stencil e-book and free tutorial video series that they'll be introducing soon.
*Please note, that while ad placement (in the right-hand column) was purchased by my featured sponsors, the Sponsor Spotlight segment is not a paid portion.

Wow! I am truly honored that you featured our stencils here and SO appreciate the opportunity to spread the word about all the amazing, creative, decorating possibilities of stenciling! Stenciling as a artform has been around for 1,000's of years but really resurged as a decorating trend back in the 80's. Now that pattern is BACK in a big way stencils are getting a well-deserved new look! Thank you, thank you!! -Melanie :)
I LOVE Royal Design Studio's stencils and Melanie's work is AMAZING. I don't do a lot of stenciling in my work, but when I do I only use their stencils. They are high quality, their customer service is fantastic and they have terrific designs. I've had some for 10 years and they hold up well...I've been able to use them again and again. Their all-over pro production stencils are really great to use...even a beginner or first-timer can produce amazing results and transform a space in a snap. I've used their stencils to make my own wrapping paper, for greeting cards and customizing drapery panels. I ordered the Florentine Damask for a client project, but I think I may have to "borrow" it for stenciling my laundry room.
Thanks for totally making my day Katie with your kind words about our stencils! ((hugs))
I love Royal Design Studio stencils! I should actually be receiving the stencil shown in the first photo today and plan to start stenciling my powder room this afternoon! It was so hard to choose though...
I would love to see a photo of your project Laura! Have fun painting this weekend. :)
We have been thinking of wallpapering our entryway but have been scared by the cost and potential for DIY error. These are exactly what we've been looking for--we can control the colors and do it ourselves. Thanks for sharing!
I am thrilled to have found this site. I've been looking for ideas for my walls beyond just painting or wallpapering. I have seen walls done with stenciling but have never tried to do it myself. Now that I've looked at and read information on "Royal DesignStudio" site, I'm going to take the leap and try stenciling a small wall in a guest bedroom to begin with.
