John Derian for Target

Hello lovelies! How was your weekend? On Saturday my daughter and I went shopping at our local Target and I took the opportunity to check out their new line of products designed by John Derian. I'm not sure if their shelves were fully stocked yet though, because I missed the plates and tumblers (I really want the butterfly plate)...but I did get a chance to see the other goods and narrowly escaped purchasing a pretty little melamine tray (I forced myself to put it back because as much as I love looking at it, I truly have no use for a melamine tray). What do you think of the new John Derian collection for Target? If you haven't had the chance to see it in stores, you can pick up a few pieces from Target online, right here.

I've been stalking this collection since I first heard about it and waiting for it to hit stores--but after visiting my local Target on the 5th and finding the selection very limited, I went online to check things out...it looks like there are a good deal of items that are marked "This item is available online, but is not available in stores." So if you see something online that you like (if it's still in stock), don't wait to see it in person! You might not get the chance! Haha!
Personally, I have a little love affair going on with those apple plates. How autumnal! I haven't gotten mine yet but I guess I can always resort to getting them for 3x as much on eBay if they sell out soon : -(
Anyway, moral of the story is I love this line! Thanks for posting!

Ez, are you sure I don't have a use for it? I have a tiny melamine tray, I keep it beside my cooker with my olive oil, sea salt and seasonings on it... it's actually very useful!

I would surely love it but I'm currently boycotting Target in support of my friends: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/17/boycott-target-commercial_n_684815.html

As much as I loved all of the plates and cups, I don't have any use for them. I was so so happy to wander into the office supply section of Target to find that there were John Derian stationary sets and notebooks! The stationary is wonderful! It comes with stickers that look like little red wax seals!

I bought a few pieces at the Gilt preview sale (anticipating that I'd never get my hands on anything at Target). I got a drawer organizer, 4 dragonfly tumblers, and the feathers tray (shown here in my house: http://shockthebourgeois.blogspot.com/2010/09/john-derian-for-target-please-sir-may-i.html). I never buy anything plastic or melamine, but I couldn't help myself when it came to that tray. I think I'll be putting it on my bedside table- it's the perfect lap-size for breakfast and magazines in bed!

I think this is one of the best collaborations Target has done! I didn't buy anything, but I sure did contemplate the large tray with the beautiful flower. I went on Labor Day and it was slim pickings! I assumed it was already picked over. Conclusion is that I liked it better than Liberty of London! Perhaps it's because these items seem to go better with my own decor. Big thumbs up from me!

I have been anxiously awaiting this collection and when it was finally in stores I hoped in my car and bought a set of the foliage dinner plates, floral salad plates and the 3-tier desert tray. I don't normally go for plastic dishes, but these were just so pretty and I can't wait to use them at a dinner party I'm hosting this weekend!
There were quite a few other pretties that I wanted, but I had to control myself! I'm still lusting over the cake stand, the media bin with moths, and the feather tray!

I love the look! But I won't purchase from Target until the boycott is over.
