Mini Obsession: Statement Necklaces

{photo from Dinosaur Designs}

I've been having a bit of an obsession lately with big eye-catching statement necklaces.  I'm especially fond of seeing them paired with a classic tee or tank top and some great shorts, jeans, or other suitably relaxed option.  The perfect juxtaposition!

Below are a few of my current favorite picks in the wallet-friendly price range (most of them are from one source...sorry).

Ach, me too! I just bought two huge honkin' necklaces last weekend and can't wait to trot them out.

I love the idea of a chunky necklace but don't know how that first one can be worn without neck pain! I guess if I had a necklace that lovely I'd put up with some pain too...

Fabric. Fabric has been my obsession all week! My daughter batted her big brown eyes at me and begged us to do a quilt as "our" special summer project. I'm such a sucker!Love those necklaces! I was just eying the ones on sale here at Promod. They have some really cute jewelry!

The bigger, the better in my mind - heavy or not, seems SO worth it. My mini obsession? Big chunky hair braid :)

I'm a big fan of the statement necklace and you can't beat Forever 21 for good deals on them. I found a great "J. Crew-esque" turquoise bauble necklace there and I've been working it all summer.

It's been so long since I wore jewelry (I'm allergic to most), but I love the look of a statement necklace, especially over a simple t-shirt or market dress.

Wow! These are great -- the F21 necklace is my favorite!

Great finds! I love statement jewelry because it can make the entire outfit seem new and different.I've had a "mini-obsession" for brightly colored ribbon. I've been tying them as belts around my summer dresses.
DEFINITELY scarves. I'm currently using two of my favorites as temporary window curtains (I'm subletting, so I don't feel like buying real ones yet)so I sort of need to update my collection. I'm thinking of getting this pink one: http://su.pr/2PhOYO

I like the ribbon trim one, it might be time to make another Forever21 order. I love that they have such reasonably priced items in clothing AND accessories, so no worries about finding a lot of awesome things there for one post!

The necklace on the model is great, if a bit impractical to actually wear. I love the idea of statement necklaces! Yay!

LOVING all of these, especially the ribbon and beaded bib. I've got them both on my wish list on F21's site. I can't believe how quickly they diffuse a style... I just saw Philip Lim's pleated ribbon necklaces on Cameron Diaz in a recent Marie Claire (flipping through it in the bookstore) and became obsessed with them. So glad I can get one for under $7 instead of having to figure out how to make one myself!

I love dinosaur designs, it's great to see such amazing Australian work here. Chunky necklaces are great. Mimco also makes some beautiful pieces.
