Beside My Desk

I'm about to run out the door to pick up my daughter from school, but I thought I'd leave you with a photo I took earlier today of the bookshelf I have next to my desk.  It was found at a rummage sale for $5 and I painted the interior aqua and left the natural wood outside untreated (you can't see that part in this photo though).  I use it to store work supplies and my extensive collection of Martha Stewart Living magazines.  It's super useful and it's probably the best 5 bucks I ever spent!  Anyhow...

Have a lovely evening everyone!  xo Ez

it's comforting to know that i'm not the only one who keeps an archive of old magazines. i'm a real simple magazine pack rat, and i bought my first ever martha stewart living last week...i see that becoming an addiction too!

Thanks for the kind comments ladies!

Katey I still have a little bit of the paint left. It was made with Dutch Boy White Base. I don't know the color name sadly, but... the color code is:D-0 5447E-0 2082R-0 01575I think that is the code... ohhh, now I'm not sure. I could paint you a swatch and send it to you so you could match it. Let me know if you want to me to, ok!

Carrie... I can rarely ever throw a magazine out. This one is my little shelf... the one behind my desk holds all my Domino, Lucky, InStyle, Real Simple, Flaunt, Blueprint, Country Living... and on and on. I have all my European magazines in my bedroom. I have a magazine problem!

Anyhow... thanks again everyone!

I love the bookshelf, so perfect for a magazine archive. Also, I simply must ask what brand of pencils those are and where did you get them? I simply love the light wood tone and colored tops.

Wow... thanks everyone! To answer your questions:-Sadly, the pencils have no brand name listed on them, and I picked them up from Target last year. I wish I had bought out their stock, because I love them too. I'll let you know if I ever find something similar or the same.

-The artist of the smaller piece is Seedpod on etsy. http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=21262There are currently no items in her shop, but you may be able to contact her through her blog: http://blog.seedpodbooksandart.com/ or her Flickr album: http://www.flickr.com/photos/seedpod/

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!xoEz
