Terrariums...

As a kid I remember going out to the nearby creek beds to collect mosses, twigs, and tiny plants.  These I would then assemble into old jars, creating what I imagined to be elaborate miniature worlds where fairy creatures would frolic and play.  I still love the magic that terrariums evoke.  They are a perfect way to bring the enchantment of the outdoors in!  You can buy them pre-assembled, or snag some inspiration (below or elsewhere) and create your own little jar of whimsy.

I love all of those. I haven't made a terrarium in ages and suddenly feel inspired to do it TOMORROW.

Lovely.

I am a huge fan of terrariums...my mom has them all over our house at home and I just love how they are this little world in a jar.

Love the terrarium, we had so many when I was a kid... loved them all except one of my brother's... he kept a newt in his, and it would always freak me out that I might not be able to see it...

Beautiful...I loved terrariums as a kid, too; even C.S. Lewis writes about them and his fascination with the small, perfect worlds in "Surprised by Joy".
