Photo Friday: The Great Wide Open

This image is a mash-up of two photos that I took a couple weekends ago while out at my parent's house. One second I was looking up snapping pictures of a blue sky filled with white rolling clouds, and only moments later everything in my viewfinder darkened into an stormy grey. Exciting! Unfortunately it was all just a tease, since not a single raindrop fell during the remainder of that sun-scorched day. Give me a thunderous storm over 105 degree weather any day, and I'll be a happy camper!

P.S. my photo treatment here was inspired in part by this, this, and this.

From Wares to Wear: Make This Photo into an Outfit

I came across this beautiful photograph by Max Attenborough the other day (via Lolalina) and almost immediately afterwards stumbled upon this vibrant pink dress that is nearly a perfect color match for the chair in the photo. And just like that, a new Wares to Wear post was born. Yay! If you'd like to check out my past wearable translations of images and products that inspire me, you can find those posts here. xo Ez

One Good Thing: Classic Book iPod & iPhone Docks

I spotted these Classic Book iPod & iPhone Docks from Booksi by Rich Neeley Designs over on etsy last night and think they are brilliant. Just imagine one of these pretty tomes resting on your night stand or desk instead of an ugly old wire charger. Genius! I'm also thinking that these would make a great present for the techie bibliophiles on your gift-giving list later this year. It also looks as though Booksi will create a custom dock using the book of your choice (I spotted a few in their feedback section). So if you have a special one in mind, they just might be able to hook you up! xo Ez

P.S. If you're interested in reading about how they source their books, and the story behind their small business, you can read more here.

Site for Sore Eyes: Likainen Parketti

Beauty crosses all language barriers, so even without an English translation I am still thoroughly inspired by the Likainen Parketti blog written by Netta-Lee for Lily (first spotted via this pin). I just love the clean modern look of her beautiful home that she shares in snippets throughout her posts. It's the sort of space I dream of having some day, so I'm bookmarking her posts like crazy for future inspiration. See all of Netta-Lee's posts right here.
