Site for Sore Eyes: Hyperbole and a Half
Sometimes you really need a good laugh. Such has been the case for me this week, so I've been spending way too much time trying to forget real world responsibilities while laughing like a maniac as I read through the archives of the hilariously written and illustrated Hyperbole and a Half (sadly the site hasn't been updated for a year, but it's still worth reading through all the old posts). Maybe you already know of this little online gem, but it's new to me (thank you sister for bringing me up to speed) and I just can't get enough. The Party and Wolves...and just about every other post for that matter, had me literally weeping with laughter). I hope you'll find it amusing too. If you're already a fan, which post is your favorite? There are so many good ones to choose from, right?! xo Ez
P.S. There are a few swears on Hyperbole and a Half. Not recommended for the youngins.

I LOVE Hyperbole and a Half! I think she's writing a book, and that's why the blog is on hold? I could be wrong though.
My absolute fave is Why I'll Never Be an Adult. http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/06/this-is-why-ill-never-be-adult.html
ALL THE THINGS.
I use that little quip all the time, the best moment was when cheering a friend on during a marathon the folks next to us had made a sign of the girl in Hyperbole and it said 'RUN ALL THE MILES' which made me die of laughter...
Oh my gosh, I'm trying so hard not to laugh out loud at work right now. I just read a dog cartoon. Hilarious. Just like my two pups. Thanks for sharing. I'm bookmarking for future reading.
Here's to a happy Wednesday full of laughs. :)
I LOVE that site! I'm not a "regular" reader, but I've ventured over there a few times via links on blogs and Twitters. The one that has always stuck with me is the same one that the first 2 posters mentioned: http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/06/this-is-why-ill-never-be-adult.html
CLEAN ALL THE THINGS?! Story of my life.
I've been a fan for years, and I always get excited when I hear that other people love Hyperbole and a Half as well. My two personal favorites are
Reality vs. Expectations: http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/08/expectations-vs-reality.html
and Dogs Don't Understand Basic Concepts Like Moving: http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/11/dogs-dont-understand-basic-concepts.html
Yes!! I love "Why I'll Never Be An Adult" too Rachel, Adri, & Robin! Clean All The Thinnnngs!
And "Dogs Don't Understand Basic Concepts Like Moving" might possibly be the funniest thing I've ever read, Erica & Sara. I was weeping from laughter! So so much like my two dogs...it's uncanny! :-)
"Who knows, maybe I'll touch a spider later." Hahaaaa! That would be my bravest day. Hilarious!
I'll have to read the "Adult" one.
God of Cake and The Sneaky Hate Spiral always make me lose it, too.
I can't wait for her book.
INTERNET FOREVER!
I've been following her for years now. Definitely some of the funniest stuff out there!!!
I miss her so much! That was one of my favorite sites. I wish she would come back. Her last entry implied some depression issues so I hope she's not still dealing with them...
This is one of my favorites! I was really hoping that you were announcing that she had updated it or something. Sigh. I guess I'll just have to go read through all of them again. I'll try not to laugh too loudly.
love "how a fish almost destroyed my childhood"!
I love Hyperbole and a Half! She is a total crack up. My favorites are "The Alot" and "The God of Cake"
I always spend some time on her site when I need to laugh. Another one I check is http://whatshouldwecallme.tumblr.com/
Love it!
Love Hyperbole and a Half!!! That site makes me laugh soo hard...or maybe I just have a sick sense of humor. I really hope she's doing better now. I miss her posts.
I love Hyperbole and a Half! The site hasn't been updated as Allie (I think that's her name anyway) has been very depressed AND is working on a book. She put out a statement on reddit not that long ago explaining her absence. :(
Oh my goodness! I just read the first page and then the party one, and I can't stop laughing still! Thank you so much for linking to this girl. Hilarious!
Love this blog too. She's been quiet because she's writing a book so we have that to look forward to also!
I wasted countless hours once in college reading every.single.post on Hyperbole and Half. I still go back and reread posts when I need a laugh. And I cannot wait for the book.
I pretty much had a pants accident over her cake post and her fear of spiders post!
Omigosh! I love to see others are reading her blog too!
Favorites include Wolves and Wild Animal.
The site has brought me to wheezing tears many a time.
I pray that she's alright. I'm sure this book deal has been quite stressful.
Definitely "the sneaky hate spiral" (http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/05/sneaky-hate-spiral.html) - have way too many of those days! Been a fan for quite some time and so sad that she's stopped for now. I hope she'll be on the go once the book is published!
The Day Kenny Loggins Stole Christmas (12/10) is probably the funniest thing I've ever read. She has a quirky sense of humor and I hope she starts blogging again soon.
I love Hyperbole and a Half and I love that it's getting a shout-out on Creature Comforts. Two of my favorite places to be on the internet, combining as one! While it's a little ominous that her last post was about dealing with depression and she hasn't updated since, I do appreciate that she talked about it. It's so relatable and makes me love her even more.
Glad you enjoyed it and got an excellent laugh out of it!
My introduction to Hyperbole was the post about giving her dog an intelligence test and it is still probably my favorite, mainly because that poor, sweet, dumb dog reminds me so much of my own. And yes, we did the blanket-over-the head test after reading that post; our guy just kept running into things until we removed it.
Ah! The God of Cake and How Kenny Loggins Ruined Christmas are by far my two most favorite posts on that site with Party a very close third. I do hope she picks up writing again.
