Announcing Gifted Magazine

Hello lovelies!  Last week I hinted that I had a special project in the works, and now it's finally time for me to let you in on the secret.  Woohoo!  Coming this Holiday season I will be launching Gifted Magazine — an absolutely fabulous online publication and gift guide that will be free for all to shop through and be inspired by.  I've always been passionate about indie designers/businesses so over the next few months I will be teaming up with some of our favorites from the design/creative world to craft a publication that is going to be truly fantastic!  I can't wait!

I'll be sharing bits and pieces of the process with you along the way (not too much...since I want it to be a great surprise come launch day)...and from now on you'll be able to find any updates, surveys, and such right here on the Gifted Magazine section of Creature Comforts.

So today I am officially opening up a call for gift guide product entries (submission guidelines below).

If you have a product currently available for sale online or in the works that you'd love to see spotlighted in the gift guide this Holiday season, then I'd love to hear about it!

Product entry guidelines:

  • Accepting products for inclusion in curated holiday gift guides.  Products should be relevant to the Creature Comforts aesthetic.
  • Please include an active link to your product/shop within your email.
  • If your shop will be closed to shoppers any time between November 1 - January 1 your products can not be included.
  • Please note if your products are one-of-a-kind, some-of-a-kind, or unlimited stock
  • I will be unable to respond to most email submissions or confirm/deny your inclusion in the guide.
  • Please include the following text in your submission subject line: "Gifted Magazine - Gift Guide Submission"
  • Emails should be sent to creaturecomfortsblogATgmailDOTcom

I am also accepting a limited number of advertisers for inclusion within the magazine.  Rates are affordable and are available upon request.

Advertiser guidelines:

  • Accepting adverting campaigns relevant to the Creature Comforts aesthetic.
  • Please include the following text in your inquiry subject line: "Gifted Magazine Ad Rate Request"
  • Emails should be sent to creaturecomfortsblog@gmail.com

-----

And lastly, I would really love to hear your thoughts.  What is one thing you are always wishing for in a Holiday magazine?  What gifts do you find most challenging to find?  Is there anything in particular that you would love, love, love to see included within Gifted?  I'm all ears and can't wait to hear what you have to say (either in the comment section here or by email).  xo Ez

Congrats! Looking forward to the launch! :)

Hi Ez! I'm a fairly new follower, but I must say that I absolutely adore your blog. Such great inspiration! I'm so excited for you and this new e-magazine. What a great idea! Along with excellent gifts, I'd love to see a section on diy and a section on fun ways to gift wrap. Hope that helps!

Can't wait! It's already been mentioned, but I totally agree -- shopping for guys is REALLY difficult! Hopefully there can be some much-needed guidance for gifts that'll please the guys AND satisfy the buyer's tastes and budget, too!

Oh my, this is GREAT news!! I can't wait for this! I'd love stuff under $50 -- my family doesn't spend a lot of money and I'm always struggling to find good, cheap gifts.

Gift guides for a range of budgets! I love to be inspired by big budget gifts but also be provided with gifts more suitable to my modest means.

So exciting Ez! You have such a creative mind and spirit tempered with an amazing design sensibility! I can see its beauty already.
I would love to see items geared for teens. This is always a hard one for me. I have a teenage sister and never know what to get her! :)

Thanks and Bests to you!

What an exciting project - congrats!

It's such a great idea!
(But I was so sad to read that you can't include any items from shops that will close during this period. Many indie designers who make one/few of a kind items will have to close the shop a couple of days before the holidays when they take their stuff to markets... )

Oh hurray! Thank you so much for all of your sweet comments! I'm really excited about Gifted and can't wait to share the finished results with you all! xo Ez

@ Unni - I completely hear where you are coming from, but in order for the magazine to remain shoppable for readers, stores will need to be open for business during the time that it is available for viewing. I wish there was another solution, but I'm afraid there isn't. Thanks for understanding. xo

EZ - How exciting! What a grand idea! I can't wait to follow! I find one of the hardest groups to buy gifts for are tweenagers and just men in general, so if you could include good ideas for those groups, it would be great! Can't wait! Please feel free to search my blog for great ideas for gifts too. Today I posted about a great new product that anyone with an anxious dog would appreciate!

Well, I always have a really hard time finding gifts for my husband. He never wants anything, or at least that's what he tells me. But HE gets me the greatest gifts every year, and plenty of them, so I feel pressure to find wonderful gifts too... Help is appreciated! :)

Congratulations! How exciting for you! I'd love to see more gift ideas for regular ol' guys. Guys that aren't trendy or dress up much and don't need a screen-printed tie or $200 messenger bag. :)

August 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterTrude

This is great! Can't wait to see it.

The idea of gift wrapping tutorials is great! And also think that items could be separated by price...
Anyways, is going to be awesome, I'm sure!

I'm not sure if this is the direction you are going, but I'd love a gift idea book for a "Handmade Christmas"... gifts that we can make instead of buying. (I guess that kinda defeats the purpose of people submitting stuff to sell though). But I can get a lot of great ideas from reading your site as well. :) I just started following your blog and projects, and LOVE it!

August 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterRachel

oh Ez! this is so exciting news! you make me start rethinking now again about the ads!!! lol!!!
cannot wait to see what you came with! bravo!!!
