We Made It
REDBUD TREES SEEN EVERYWHERE
Hello lovelies! Well, we made it! We couldn't have made it without my Mom who so generously flew out to New Jersey a few weeks ago and then drove us for three days until we reached our new home here in Tulsa, Oklahoma (my license had expired without me realizing it, so she was stuck with the driving. Thanks a million Mom).
FREE BIKES FOR RIDING AT THE RIVERWALK PARK
I am so happy to be able to say that we really love it here. Our rental home is perfect...exactly what we were dreaming of, our neighborhood and neighbors are lovely, and Tulsa has done nothing but surprise us with good things. Honestly it's not a city that looks like much from the interstate, so you could easily miss all the beauty and charm if you never venture past the freeways. But we've discovered so much already. We love the friendliness of the people, the care that has gone into making the parks truly worth spending your days relaxing in...and right now (since it's Springtime) all the glorious flowers and trees blooming everywhere! I'm sure I'll have lots more to share about our new home in the coming weeks and months.

Tulsa is a beautiful city, I've lived there most of my life! They have a great arts scene and growing indie/market community. You'll have to check out Mayfest coming up in May!

I didn't even know we had pink bikes at Riverwalk! Thanks for showing me something new about my own city. I'm so glad to hear your move has been a positive one so far. It's true that one could easily miss the charm of Tulsa, but after living here for the past 6 years I really love it and it has come to feel like home. I am loving the blossoming red buds in my front yard too. Looking forward to hearing more about your Tulsa adventures, Ez.
Thank you so much for your kind comments everyone! It feels so good to finally be in a place that I can feel proud to call home. Thanks for taking the time to brighten my little internet 'home" with your sweet words!

I'm not sure if you even read new comments on ancient posts, but this one struck a chord with me. My Grandfather, Walter Helmerich, spent a considerable amount of his time and resources on the Tulsa Parks (he served as chairman for like a million years). He passed away this last January and it made me feel so grateful and proud that his work is noticed and appreciated. So, thank you. :)
Also, I have been following your blog forever and absolutely love everything you post. Thanks for the continual inspiration!
