Newly Mine

{Two quick shots of the garland on my my desk}

Hi sweets! I thought it would be fun to show a few of the happy things I've purchased recently. I'm on a pretty strict budget (especially when it comes to buying things for myself), but these things were just too good to pass up.

Firstly, I've become completely obsessed with this little bundle of tinsel garland that I picked up at Target a few weeks ago (it is only available in stores sadly). It has such a great vintage look to it in person, and the tiny size is just the cutest thing. I think I bought them out at one of our local stores!

Next, I finally broke down and bought myself a warm winter jacket (cozy all the way down to -25°). I feel a bit silly after all my grand talk about finding a super stylish coat (you all had the best recommendations - thank you so much)...but I wound up going for comfort in the long run. Who knows, my birthday is coming up, so maybe a fashionable coat isn't too far out of the question just yet. Then I finally found my perfect red nail polish after my hunt last week. The color is OPI "Color So Hot it Berns." I'm hooked. And lastly I picked up this checkered dress on sale at Old Navy. I know...I don't wear dresses, but It looked so cute tucked into jeans like a shirt and layered under a cardigan I had to buy it anyhow. I just have to shorten it a tad, sew a new hem, and presto-change-o, I have a fun checkered top for layering this Winter.

Have you had any fun shopping adventures recently (for yourself)? What's topping your wish list? My top three hopefuls are: 1. a new couch (desperately needed en mi casa), 2. fashionable coat (this one is still a serious contender), 3. amazing black boots (sigh). xo Ez

I just bought myself the same checkered dress this weekend and killer black boots are still on my list! Boots are my one splurge since it seems I am in the market for a great pair every 5 years or so.

Yeah, totally feeling the burn with the budget crunch, especially after just getting off maternity leave. I recently splurged on a much-needed haircut, though. Good for you, getting a few special things that make you feel nice. Isn't that the best feeling?

I am so jealous of your Target find. I moved recently and now live an hour and a half from Target. Oh so sad.

Oh fun Nia! I bet the dress looks cute on you. Good luck with your boot hunt.
Thanks Britt! I totally forgot to put haircut and color on my list too! Mine is currently long overdue for some salon lovin.'
So sad Karissa! I'm not sure what I'd do without a Target nearby. We are still trying to cope without a Trader Joe's in our neighborhood, so I kind of feel your pain!

Nice dress! But I'm more into stripes right now!
Top of my shopping list right now are a striped tee and black & white striped linen fabric to make into pillow cases for our couch!

The garland looks so pretty with that gorgeous shade of red on your nails!

haha! i also talked a big game about getting myself a super stylish but warm winter coat...and i found it (click on my link and look at my nov. 30th post, if you want to take a look)! i was ready to throw in the towel and go for a puffy down, until i spotted my dream coat in the "military style" section (i can never resist anything military-inspired).

on the other hand, your new coat still looks cute! and you could always dress it up with a funky, colorful scarf and hat. gotta' love how accessories take the look to a whole new level.

that is the prettiest garland i've seen as of yet. target it 30 mins. away from me but i think it's time to take another trip! love your images!

I always go for comfort too when it comes to coats. What can I say, I am from the Caribbean and detest being cold! If it's any comfort yours still looks more stylish then mine.

Right now I think top of my list is a fancy camera bag. Let's hope Santa is listening :)

I got my first personal christmas tree the other day and I decorated it with the same garland! I got a couple of them at Target last year ago and I also loved how old-fashioned they looked. I made sure to look for them again when they put the Christmas decorations out, but it seems my branch doesn't have them this year...so glad I snagged them when I did!
Love the red nails, too. :)

That coat is still cute! :) I feel you on the search, I'm keeping my eyes peeled (the one I wanted from Anthro went on sale but sold out in my size almost immediately!) but it's going to have to wait until after Christmas anyways. So that's topping my "To-Buy" list, as well as new camera body (I wish!!).

That is my my perfect red too! After spending almost half an hour testing out diff reds between OPI and Essie I chose Color So Hot It Berns. It's perfect!
