How Do I Wear: A Sequin Tank Top
Hello lovelies! Today I thought I'd try my hand at finding a solution to a fashion dilemma emailed to me by reader Erika. This is a bit different from my Chic for Cheap challenges as she already owns the main fashion piece and is simply in need of a few ideas on how to wear it (I also didn't stick to as tight of a budget as I usually do, but I don't think I went too overboard).
We all have those unworn items in our closet, don't we — the ones we swore we'd wear all the time, but that stump us when it comes down to getting dressed in the morning. For today's challenge the perplexing item is a sequin tank top that Erika purchased a couple years ago from Anne Taylor Loft. Here's Erika's challenge in her own words: "I have a dull gold metallic sequin tank top (totally out now, right?). Any fresh ideas on how to wear it? I've only ever worn it with jeans and a black cardigan, but I feel like I'm "wasting" the garment that way. It seems destined for something more spectacular, and I'm stumped."
I've actually been seeing sequins popping up all over the place, so this is a perfect time to breath new life into this top! I decided to go for two looks (one for daytime and one for evening). It's always fun to see how an outfit can change so much with just a few tweaks, don't you think?

I just wore mine last night to a benefit! I wore jeans and a suit blazer. However, i have paired mine with a high-waisted skirt. I think the trick is balancing the bling :) Love both of those shoes!

Also cute is to wear it over a button-down dress shirt with a cardigan or blazer. It creates the appearance of a sequined vest. Fun!
Thanks so much, EZ! I always wear the top with jeans and a black cardigan, so it's awesome to have new ideas. I already have black satin pants and a gray cardigan, so that top look I can do right away without any shopping (except for some strategic borrowing from mom's closet for the shoes)! Yaaaay! Perfect for the low-key holiday parties I have coming up. And the bottom look with black tights and skirt -- I can pull that one together easy, too. I have a black satin skirt that will work. I'm going to ask Santa for shoes like those. Perfect for date night! Thanks so much for the ideas. I'm finally going to get good use out of that top this winter.

I LOVE this, Ez! Hm, will you perhaps be making this a regular feature? I for one would love to see more "how to wear it" posts because I think so many of us struggle with working fewer pieces into multiple outfits. Of course it doesn't hurt that I would totally wear either one of these outfits in a heartbeat! So nice.

Love these! Both looks are spot on and so appropriate for the season. Does anyone have a good reccomendation on a gold-toned sequin top? Most of the ones I'm finding are black or silver.
