One Good Thing + A Pop Quiz

I adore this beautifully handcrafted Robin's Egg Bird Clutch (choose from three different handles) by Ink & Spindle.  There is something so incredible about owning a piece that was created with the heart and hands of a real person.  Don't you think?

Pop Quiz: What is your favorite (purchased) handcrafted possession, and why?  Share in the comment section below.

I'll start by saying that for me it's a tie between this wonderful original painting by Amanda Blake AND this gorgeous deer by Lemmikkiapina. Can't wait to hear what yours will be.  xox Ez

I love those handles! I wonder if they are laser cut.

I have two handmade treasures that are my absolute favorites - a celebration candle kid from Small Object and a beautiful gray ruffled tank from Etsy seller ellainaboutique.

I buy handmade sea salt soap bars from Magichands on Etsy. I know that's not something that you buy for keeps, but I love washing my face with them every morning.

i am fascinated by a teensy handwoven basket with lid that is the diameter of a quarter and which i bought at our Native Heritage Center. it stands an inch tall and has a blue-green handyed rib. the woven stitches are sooo tiny. PLUS, it inspires me to learn how to weave baskets.

That's a really tough one. If I rule out all the ones I have traded it helps. I think this is one of my very favourites. A vase by the wildly talented Diana Fayt:http://www.flickr.com/photos/dianafayt/2689530604/Those purse handles are amazing!!

I love Ink & Spindle! I ordered fabric to make curtains for our nursery, and Lara was awesome to work with! Plus, the Aussie dollar is low right now, so you get great value for your money. I highly recommend the shop.

My favorite is this sweet little hand sewn elephant shown here http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=11524059I purchased it for my niece and gave it to my sister at her baby shower. I love it because of all the intricate details, that it is pink, that it is made partialy of vintage fabric, AND that it is just absolutely adorable!

It wasn't purchased as much as won in a raffle. I hoped for and won a painting that had been created during the first benefit concert I planned for AIDS Walk New York. The artist had scraps of paper on which each of the attendees wrote down their thoughts, hopes & dreams. The papers were collaged and became the base of the painting. It is one of the most beautiful things I own probably because it reminds me of the success of the benefit that night and our first year walking as a team. I love that I recognize most of the handwriting samples and know who had a part in creating the piece.

I recently commisioned my first artwork purchase- an original painting by Pretty Little Thieves. I didn't know what to expect when I ordered it, as there were no sketches, just words exchanged. When it arrived, I was very pleasantly surprised. :)
