Inspired Artist: Johnny Miller

I am in love with all of the work of photographer Johnny Miller {found via the beautiful Snippet & Ink blog}, but there is something about his personal series Coney Island that has truly captured my heart and imagination.

I like to think of Mr. Miller strolling down the beach... each discarded wrapper, wad of chewing gum, misplaced personal object catching his eye and making it twinkle.  I love the starkness of each photo.  There is something beautifully human about them (no fancy photoshopping to trick the eye)... just sandy, gritty, curious life.

See all of his work right here.

Johnny's fantastic. He's a super big sweetheart, too! We were talking about this series and the funny thing is, he's sort of a germaphobe (it's very endearing) and so to imagine him with a tissue picking up other people's trash and quickly stuffing them in a ziplock suddenly became a lot more amusing!
