Chic for Cheap: New Years Resolution: Try New Colors

 Melissa came up with the lovely idea to base today's Chic for Cheap outfit off of a New Years resolution.  I don't know about you, but I find that I always gravitate towards the standard monochrome colors (read black, white, and gray)... so my resolution is to try new colors.

I just bought some blue mary janes from Target. I used to be an all black sort of girl. Now I have a hard time gravitating toward the few black items in my closet. Color makes me happy!

Great outfit and idea! I just made a post with some of my holiday shopping finds in an eerily similar color palette. I LOVE forever 21's inexpensive scarves to add a punch of color (I tend toward neutrals most of the time too). I'm not sure I could pull off bright yellow pants though!

YES!!! This wil be my year of CRAZY PANTS. I bought a pair of yellow cords at JCrew (just like the poster above, for only $20 the day after Xmas). I have to take them in a bit, because they're too flary. But yeah, yellow cords? BRING IT!
