D.I.Y. Coffee Filter Garlands

{found via GA GA for Garlands blog}

I've totally flipped for this gorgeous garland that Pam Garrison created using coffee filters.  Yes, coffee filters!  She doesn't give full d.i.y. instructions on her site, but the process seems pretty straightforward and uncomplicated.  I think the beauty of this project is that so much is left up to your own personal aesthetic and taste.  Mix in some bright colors if that's your thing, maybe string on some beads if you'd like... anything goes!  The sky's the limit.  Here's another variation that Pam came up with.  So lovely, right?!

Have a gorgeous weekend everyone! xo Ez

I can't wait to try this myself! They remind me of tissue paper flowers (looked like multi-colored dandelions with pipecleaner stems) that I used to make as a kid.

Oh my goodness, I love this! Those flowers look so romantic and delicate, I didn't believe at first that they were made of just coffee filters. This would be a fun crafty project.

Lovely, lovely. I lead an activity like this with a group of underpriviledged children as part of an afterschool enrichment program a few years ago. It's so simple! I must say these muted tones look a bit better than the rainbow-hues we used... ;-)

I love these! I just saw a similar garland somewhere in blogland (don't remember where...) made of cupcake wrappers and various squares of crumpled tissue. I'm planning on making one for my daughter's 1st birthday.

Wow, if this isn't motivation enough to stop buying take-away coffee, I don't know what is!

I think this marks the first time I've ever wished I didn't make my coffee in a french press!

I made these garlands after seeing them on her site! it took awhile to figure out how to make them look full and pompom-like. Photos here (scroll down a bit):http://www.flotation9.net/sweetfineday/2009/01/03/the-christmas-photoshoot/
