Now & Later
This might be a broad translation of the "going-green" theme, but I wanted to touch upon the idea of purchasing fashionable pieces that will have staying power for seasons to come (the more use you get out of your clothing the better it is for your wallet and the environment).
I like the idea of buying super affordable basics (such as the dresses in this post), with the intention of layering them with other pieces when the weather cools down (how cute would these dresses be, layered over a pretty top, dark tights, and some t-strap heels for the fall). I think that it's really all about the accessories you choose when you are wearing pieces as simple as these... so have fun with it!
Tip: before you go out and buy a new Spring or Fall (depending upon where you live in the world) wardrobe, take stock of your closet's contents and play around with what you have. Mix and match things together in a unique way... then once you are satisfied, bag up what you will not be using again and donate it to a local women's shelter or other charitable organization. You can then (in good conscience) shop for items you are lacking... with a fresh outlook!

speaking of going green, i've found myself browsing my local goodwills more often. 5.50 for a pair of perfectly sized rock and republics--can't go wrong with that :)
