She was Ophelia of the backyard. Feeling depressed and dramatically desperate she marched her heeled feet through the garden path, flouncing her way to the pond. A moment later there was a splash and her feet were barefoot, neon yellow high-heels floating with lilypads. Then she was down on the grass, grasping it in her palms like the earth-mother-goddess she was. The earth spoke to her. Everything spoke to her. She was alive and life was terribly wonderful as much as it was wonderfully terrible. She looked to the blue sky overhead. It was blooming and bursting with the greens of tree limbs above. The green was so bright and lush it looked shiny and wet, as though she were in the jungle. Around her, flowers shone like jewels in the sun. - Jessica Rae Snippet Inspired by a photograph by Jimmy Backius
