Creature of Comfort: Snippet & Ink
Kathryn... the creative force behind Snippet & Ink, has been inspiring us for many months with her gorgeous wedding moodboards and coverage of gowns, decor, real weddings and more. So I'm super excited to have the chance to share a behind the scenes look of Kathryn's inspirations with you all today in our third installment of Creatures of Comfort.

To read Kathryn's lovely interview answers...
Q: What is one thing that never fails to inspire you?
A:
Reading a really good book. The language, images, stories, cleverness
of wonderful fiction. Lolita, East of Eden, The Bell Jar, To Kill A
Mockingbird are some of my favorites. I haven't done much creative
writing since college, but reading the work of brilliant authors always
inspires my imagination (and often envy!) and desire to live and create
thoughtfully.
Q: How are you currently incorporating your inspirations into your blog/designs/art?
A:
I've been focusing a lot on color and seasons lately in my inspiration
boards, but I always try to include something unexpected. Inspiration
boards are such a fun way to pull together images and ideas based on
the things that are really inspiring me at the moment. My aim with
Snippet & Ink is to inspire my readers, even if they aren't in the
midst of planning a wedding, and to show how many ways one can design a
wedding, home, or even wardrobe - how many really beautiful
possibilities there are, and how endless inspiration is.
Q: What is your favorite indulgence?
A: Spending the morning in bed with my honey, talking about everything and nothing. And warm chocolate chip cookies.
Q: What are three creature comforts you can't live without?
A:
1) My family. Even though I don't live near them, I spend
hours on the phone each week with my mom and my two sisters. I live for
summers and holidays when we're all able to get together in Montana or
California.
2) This American Life.
I'm not a huge fan of TV, and really try to avoid it, but I love this
radio program. It's just so smart! Great for road trips, or for anytime.
3) My slippers.
I got them from honey's mom last year, and they are like mini sleeping
bags for your feet, and everyone on my list is getting a pair this year
for Christmas.
Q: Do you have a personal motto or words that you live by (quotes and song lyrics are fine too)?
A:
I have a few, but I think my personal favorite is from E.B. White: "If
the world were merely seductive, that would be easy; if the world
were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise each
morning torn between a desire to change the world and a desire to enjoy
it. This makes it very hard to plan the day." It perfectly conveys the
conflict I feel so much of the time. The other quote that feels like a
fitting description, and that makes me laugh, is from John Belushi: "I
owe it all to little chocolate donuts." Although in my case it would be
chocolate chip cookies and French cheese.
