And here's a list of things I need to accomplish today. Boring right?! Make your own Catalog Card here.
On a browse around etsy the other day I discovered the wool felted creations of Nancy Bevins and was instantly captivated. Needle-felting is a technique that involves a process of "rolling or bunching carded wool into a tight form, then poking it with a very long barbed needle. This intertwines the wool together. With enough pokes, it tightens up. The more you stab, the tighter the form will be." Nancy uses wool from her own sheep and goats, which she and her children shear, wash, pick, card and dye by hand!
It's the size and complexity of each of her pieces that really impresses me. I can't even imagine the time and dedication that her art form must take.
For more information on Nancy Bevins and her work, visit her official site: Motley Mutton. And to purchase her pieces, check out her etsy site or ebay listings.
